Broken Walls in Pikangikum

JONATHAN MARACLE shares the following letter from Colleen Estes, our missionary sister in Pikangikum, Northwestern Ontario upon the team’s return from ministry there:
Dear Jonathan, Kris, and Bill,Sorry for the delay in writing to you, but I just wanted to express how thankful I am to the Lord for you and for your impact on the youth of our community. We don’t usually get much feedback, but as one young adult simply put it at the Northern Store… “That was a good conference. We should do it again.”Your times here have always been good, but in particular this time I felt such a powerful anointing of the Holy Spirit on your words. Due to your continuing relationship with this community, you were able to be direct and address real issues and it was received because our people know that you love them. One of my most precious snapshots in my mind is of the youth, particularly the two rows of young men, standing to their feet during “Rise Up, Mighty Warrior.” A couple of days later all of them volunteered to work next Saturday morning to help construct the community playground.Just know that I just feel the love of the Lord through you my brothers, and I feel strengthened and renewed by you. It was so good to hang out with you and to go fishing! Thank you, Jonathan, for going with me on that food run. Sometimes I get desensitized to the things around me, and your tears reminded me what our people go through.I believe that God was speaking to K. about salvation… he left on Tuesday due to the pressures, but expressed to me again how much your messages meant to him. Thanks, too, for inviting T. to play with you. God is doing a neat work in him, and I know this really encouraged him.Love you!!!! Colleen”
